Lao traditional medicine healers use the root of A. indicum (L.) Sweet combining with some following ingredients as a remedy for the treatment of kidneys stones: the roots of Micromelum falcatum (Lour.) Tanaka (Mark Phet Pa as it local name), Dalbergia cana Graham (Kham Pee Dorn), Aganonerion polymorphum Pierre ex Spire (Som Lom), Cratoxylon formosum (Jack) Dyer, subsp. pruniforum (Kurz) Gogel (Tiu khon), Imperata cylindrica (L.) P, Beauv (Nha Kha), Eupatorium odoratum L. (Nha khiu or Kot Ju La) 3 bath of each dry raw material (1 bath = 15.00g); decocted with 2 liters of water for 1 hour; drink as a substitution of drinking water [3]. According to oriental medicine theory A. indicum (L.) Sweet consists of sweet taste, calm character, abolishes wind element and toxic heat [1, 2]. It is used for cold and diuretic in combination with other ingredients as a decoction. Daily dose: 8-16 g dry material.
