Lao traditional medicine uses the aerial part of A.precatorius L., except the seeds, as one of diabetic remedy’s ingredient, including Centella asiatica (L.) Urb., Momordica charantia L., Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.), Orthosiphon stamineus Benth., the young leaves of Anacardium occidentale L. and Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don; take 8 g of each, and make up a decoction with 2 liters of water, by boiling in 2 hours, divide into 3 equal parts. Drink 3 times in a day [4]. According to oriental medicine theory, all parts of Abrus precatorius L., possesses sweet taste, mildly bitter, cool character. Seeds are very toxic, having antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect [1, 3].
