ລຳໂຕຍາວ 2-4 ຊມ, ມີໜວດເປັນຮູບຂົນ, ມີຕາດ່ຽວ 3 ຕາລຽງກັນເປັນຮູບສາມຫຼ່ຽມ. ສ່ວນຫົວ, ລຳໂຕ, ແລະ ທ້ອງຈະເຊື່ອມຕໍ່ກັນເປັນສ່ວນດຽວກັນ. ປິກບາງໃສ ແລະ ຍາວກວ່າລຳໂຕ, ເວລາເກາະຢູ່ກັບທີ່ ປິກຈະຫຸບຕິດກັນເປັນຮູບສາມຫຼ່ຽມ. ຂາ 3 ຄູ່, ເປັນຂາແບບຍ່າງ. ໂຕອ່ອນມີລັກສະນະຮູບຮ່າງຄ້າຍຄືໂຕເຕັມໄວ, ມີສີນ້ຳຕານອ່ອນ, ຕາໃຫຍ່, ຂາໜ້າມີຂະໜາດໃຫຍ່ໄວ້ສຳຫຼັບຂຸດດິນ. ໂຕຜູ້ສາມາດເຮັດສຽງດັງໄດ້ເຖິງ 100 ເດຊີເບລ, ສຽງຂອງມັນມີຄວາມຖິ່ສູງ, ແຕກຕ່າງຈາກຈັກຈັ່ນຊະນິດອື່ນ. ມັນຈະຮ້ອງໃນເວລາກາງເວັນໃນອຸນຫະພູມ 32-33 ອົງສາ, ຊ່ວງເດືອນ ມີນາ-ເມສາ.
