Description:
This fish has a pointed snout with numerous small bumps. Its head and eyes are relatively large, with two pairs of barbels (whiskers) around its mouth. The length of its eye is roughly 29 to 60 percent of its head length. The dorsal (upper fin is longer than the anal (lower) fin, and both have a mix of hard and soft rays. The tail fin is yellow with a black border. The lateral line, a distinctive line running along the side of the body, is complete. Its body is primarily silver with a brown back.
